Parent Preparation: Genesis chapters 1 and 2, Isaiah 45:18, John 4:24 (for further ideas read Genesis 1, 2, & 3 Overview)
Supplies: Bible, Children’s Bible, Bible basket with visuals, Playdough, printout of teaching
Day 1
- (Read corresponding chapter in your children’s Bible)
- God made man and woman. Adam and Eve. He used the dust of the ground to make man.
- (Make the shape of a person from Playdough) Is this person alive? Is he breathing? No. He just has a body (Have your child hold up one finger)
- (Read Genesis 2:7) When the man Adam started breathing he then had a soul. (Have the children feel their breath) He was made of a body, he had a soul (hold up 2 fingers).
- God created man in His image. God is spirit. When God made man He also gave man spirit.
- Adam and Eve had 3 parts, body, soul, and spirit (count to 3 on fingers)
- (Read theme verse)
- (Read corresponding chapter in your children’s Bible)

- Adam had soul life (hold up 2 fingers.)
- (Read Genesis 1:27) It says that God created man in His image.
- What is God made of? Does God look like a person? No! He is spirit.
- When God made man He also gave man spirit. Adam could talk with God and enjoy working with God because Adam had spirit.
- Adam and Eve had 3 parts, body, soul, and spirit (count to 3 on fingers)

- (Read Genesis 2:18, show Adam all alone).
- It wasn't good for man to be alone. He needed a helper with him.
- God made animals (show Adam with animals). But still there was no helper for him!
- God made a woman for man. Now he had a helper!
- (Read Genesis 2:24) This is why people leave their parents and become married.
- (Have child repeat theme verse.)
Additional Activities:
- Make A List of Good Things: Go through and list together with your child all the things that God saw that were good. (Genesis 1:4, 10, 12, 16-18, 21, 25, 31)
- Make A Collage: 1. Give your child old calendars or magazines that have photos of landscapes and animals. 2. Have your child cut out pictures of things that God made and created. 3. Glue the pictures to a piece of paper. 4. Write Genesis 1:31a or Jeremiah 10:12a on the picture.
